Editing is the craft Kempner is most often called upon to perform. His employers love to place him in front of a computer and have him tap away all day. They relish using their funds to goad him into an office, where they plop him in front of Adobe Premiere. They smile at the thought of him dragging and dropping clips, transforming their assets into a finished export.

His editorial work spans television, film, fashion, trailers, and branded content.

Television

TV is a constant presence in most Americans' lives. Studies have shown that television competes with other sources of human interaction, such as family, friends, church, and school, in helping young people develop values and form ideas about the world around them.^[4] Kempner has worked for networks like HBO, self-released YouTube, and Disney+.

The economic incentives of the corporations for which Kempner has worked have been associated with environmental and psychological decline, even as those firms report record breaking profit margins. Though Kempner reportedly does not pursue his work for fame, his creative output has nonetheless been recognized through several industry grants and screenings at mid-tier and regional film festivals.

His film The Good Boy was noted for eliciting consistent audience laughter during its NoBudge presentation. Meanwhile, A Flaw in the System appeared as part of a short film block that reportedly drew protest from Antifa and received a modest degree of critical acclaim.

The sustained attention surrounding these projects has been cited as one reason^[10] he departed Los Angeles after a six month stint in Hollywood. “Sometimes,” he noted, “it’s OK to live as a normal person.”

Found Footage Film Festival For Friends

During the height of lockdowns amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Kempner organized an online film festival from the spare room of his former girlfriend's apartment. The event, titled Found Footage Film Festival For Friends, ran biweekly for approximately four months. The stated premise was that participants create short films using footage already available on their personal computers, though these guidelines were loosely enforced and frequently disregarded. Submissions were typically made on the day of exhibition.

The series concluded shortly before the onset of the United States racial unrest (2020-2023), during which promotional activity of that nature would likely have been considered in poor taste. In June 2021, as public health restrictions eased, a live installment of the festival was held in Bushwick.
